Oxoketene-oxoketene, imidoylketene-imidoylketene and oxoketenimine-imidoylketene rearrangements. 1,3-Shifts of phenyl groups.
Dibenzoylketene 5 undergoes degenerate 1,3-shifts of the phenyl group between acyl and ketene carbon atoms, thus interconverting it with 6 and 7. This 1,3-shift takes place in the gas phase under flash vacuum thermolysis (FVT) conditions, but not in solution at 110-145 degrees C. Imidoyl(benzoyl)ketene 13 undergoes degenerate 1,3-shift of the phenyl group on FVT, thus interconverting it with 14...
متن کاملG-protein Coupled Receptor Dimerization
A growing body of evidence suggests that GPCRs exist and function as dimers or higher oligomers. The evidence for GPCR dimerization comes from biochemical, biophysical and functional studies. In addition, researchers have shown the occurrence of heterodimerization between different members of the GPCR family. Two receptors can interact with each other to make a dimer through their extracellular...
متن کاملSYNTHESIS AND THERMAL REARRANGEMENT OF OXYGEN HETEROCYCLIC SPIRANS
Thermal rearrangement of spirans (14) and (31) yields the xanthones (16,34) and diphenylrnethane (15, 32), respectively. The structure for xanthone (16), isolated from thermolysis, has been established by reduction to xanthene (20) followed by reoxidation to give xanthone (16). Alternatively, methylation of the diphenylmethane (15) followed by heating with selenium dioxide also yields xant...
متن کاملApp Dimerization and Processing
APP is a type I transmembrane protein. Its cleavage in the amyloidogenic pathway by βand γsecretases produces the β-amyloid peptide (Aβ), the major constituent of senile plaques. In addition, the cleavage of the membrane-bound APP C-terminal fragments (CTFs) by γ-secretase releases the AICD (APP Intracellular Cterminal Domain), a soluble intracellular protein believed to control APP-dependent s...
متن کاملHybridization and Genome Rearrangement
We infer post-hybridization rearrangements in a hybrid genome, given the gene orders on its chromosomes and some knowledge of the two parent genomes. We study this in two biologically and computationally different contexts, genome fusion and interspecific fertilization. Exact algorithms are furnished for some cases, and a heuristic based on the Hannenhalli-Pevzner theory for another.
